Workplace Infectious Diseases
The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), in partnership with organisations such as the Communicable Disease Agency (CDA) has developed a range of initiatives to help workplaces manage infectious diseases effectively.
These initiatives are provided to all workplaces in Singapore on a complimentary basis.
HIV Awareness Video
Objective
Local and overseas qualitative studies have highlighted that those diagnosed with late-stage HIV cite perceived workplace stigmatisation and discrimination as one of the reasons for not getting tested earlier. Removing stigmatisation and discrimination would encourage earlier testing and treatment, which has been shown to be highly effective in preventing onward transmission. As part of efforts to help Singapore achieve its commitment to eliminate the spread of HIV, SNEF, HPB and NCID have developed a short video to promote HIV awareness, reduce stigmatisation and discrimination in workplaces.

Guidelines on Managing HIV in the Workplace
SNEF has published guidelines for employers to manage the incidence of HIV in the workplace, as part of Singapore’s commitment to achieving the three zeros: Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Discrimination, and Zero AIDS-Related Deaths. The main guidelines document contains a detailed report on the HIV situation and its recommendations, whereas the accompanying implementation guide functions as a “quick guide” for more concise reference. Workplaces can play an integral role in reducing stigma and prejudice towards HIV in Singapore. Without stigma and prejudice, people would be less deterred towards earlier detection and treatment, which in turn would reduce the spread of HIV in the community. By pledging your support, your workplace recognises the need to eliminate discriminatory practices, as well as encourage others to show their support.
Pledge your support to implement the 3-tier approach on managing HIV in the workplace!
