Updated Tripartite Advisory on Managing Excess Manpower and Responsible Retrenchment (as at 17 Oct 2020)

SNEF has been working closely with our tripartite partners to help employers in the adoption of good employment practices.

The Tripartite Partners have released the updated Tripartite Advisory on Managing Excess Manpower and Responsible Retrenchment on 17 Oct 2020.

Employers are strongly encouraged to take a long-term view of their manpower needs, including the need to maintain a strong Singaporean core, and preserve jobs as far as possible. The updated advisory aims to assist and guide employers in managing their excess manpower, preserving jobs and conducting retrenchment exercises only as a last resort and responsibly.
