Apply for co-funding through SNEF to implement health initiatives in your workplace

~ health screening, dancefit classes, ergonomics workshops and more!

To achieve a healthier, productive, and more engaged workforce, companies can work with the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) to run workplace health programmes, including chronic disease health screening, fitness classes, workout sessions, nutrition, mental wellbeing and ergonomics workshops.

2        Companies can select from a wide variety of on-site or virtual activities that are curated and co-funded by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) under its Workplace Outreach Wellness (WOW) Programme. For example, they can receive co-funding amounts of up to $280 for organising a mental wellbeing workshop at their workplaces. For more information on the types of offerings and co-funding amounts, please refer to Annex A. Beyond workplace health programmes under WOW, companies can also leverage national programmes, such as HPB’s National Steps ChallengeTM Corporate Challenge where companies are collectively rewarded for group efforts in increasing physical activity levels among their employees, and the I Quit programme which supports participants in leading a nicotine-free lifestyle.

Supporting employee cohesion in healthy workplaces

3        As one of the appointed project managers for WOW, SNEF assists companies to come onboard WOW and implement various workplace health programmes that offer co-funding options. SNEF intends to onboard more than 3,500 employers, whose employees would benefit from health and wellness initiatives implemented at their workplaces over the next 2 years.

4          Mr Jerry Seah, Senior Director of Centre for Workplace Development and Membership Development and Engagement, stated “Employers are critical in developing and formulating an overall corporate mindset and environment for healthier, more productive and engaged workforce, where the focus shifts to employees’ own physical and mental wellbeing. SNEF strongly encourage employers to leverage the WOW Programme and work with us to curate customised workplace wellness plans for your workplaces. For example, companies can collaborate with us and kickstart their healthy workplace plans with health screening and subsequent follow-ups for employees, and then introduce workshops on ergonomics, mental wellness, fitness classes, and even smoking cessation sessions in latter months.”

5         Miss Chuah Xing Mei, HR Executive of newly onboarded company Starry Homestead Pte Ltd, has also expressed enthusiasm in the WOW Programme: “A co-funded workplace health programme can be a win-win situation for both employers and employees, empowering companies to create a healthy lifestyle behaviour, improved health and well-being, cost savings, and increased engagement and satisfaction within the workforce. The health screenings are critical for employees to identify potential health problems early, and the various activities like physical activities, mental wellness and ergonomics talks and workshops educate employees on proper information, promote healthy lifestyles and boost team spirit. Overall, the WOW Programme will lead to a happier and more productive workforce.”
