Career Conversion Programme for Autonomous Vehicles Specialists
The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) has been appointed by Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) as the Programme Partner.
The Career Conversion Programme for Autonomous Vehicles Specialists (CCP AVS) aims to support individuals in reskilling and transitioning into autonomous vehicle roles within Singapore’s land transport sector. The programme is designed to build a strong and sustainable pipeline of skilled talent for both conventional and emerging transport sub‑sectors.
Programme Outline
The CCP AVS is a 3-month place-and-train programme which supports individuals develop skills for emerging autonomous vehicles aligned with Singapore’s future mobility needs. The roles include operators, technician and engineers. Eligible individuals nominated by the employer will undergo structured classroom training or on-the-job/supervised field training, and the training duration ranges from 2 to 6 months, depending on the role and training plan.
General Eligibility Criteria
For Employers:
- Companies1 registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Must be able to offer employment with of least a 12-month employment contract offering a minimum salary of $3,500
- Must put in place structured on-the-job training plan or supervised field training for the trainee
For Trainees:
- Be a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR) aged 21 years and above
- Must be a newly hired PMET (not more than 3 months from date of employment), and nominated by an eligible company for CCP
- Have graduated or completed National Service (NS) at least 2 years2 prior at the point of application
- Must not have connections to the CCP participating company:
- Shareholder of CCP company or its related companies3
- Related4 to the owners5 of the CCP company; and
- Immediate ex-staff of the CCP company or related entities
- Must not be undergoing any programmes funded by SWDA concurrently
- Must not have enrolled into the same programme previously
1 “Companies” is used as a generic term and is intended to include non-business entities not registered with ACRA such as VWOs and societies, among others.
2 This will be counted from the date of graduation from the latest qualification, or date of completion of NS, whichever is later.
3 This does not apply to shareholders who hold publicly traded shares in listed companies.
4 Related individuals refer to these 4 groups
- Spouse/ex-spouse
- Children
- Parents/parents-in-law
- Siblings
5 For non-publicly listed companies, refer to individuals with shareholding per ACRA profile
Salary Support for Employers
Upon completion of the programme and having met all the training requirements, participating companies can receive salary support for each eligible trainee onboard the CCP
Standard Rate
Up to 70% of monthly salary for CCP training duration (capped at $5,000 per month)
Enhanced Rate*
Up to 90% of monthly salary for CCP training duration (capped at $7,500 per month)
*For SC/PR who are unemployed and actively seeking employment for six months or more, and/or SC/PR aged 40 years and above in the year of commencement of the CCP
