Background

Support for Job Redesign under Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG-JR) encourages enterprises to work with pre-approved consultants to redesign work processes, tasks and responsibilities. Job Redesign (JR) can support business transformation and help make jobs more productive and attractive for employees, helping enterprises to hire and retain good workers to support the business.

How it works

Interested Enterprises may download the PSG-JR Proposal and Completed Project Report templates and apply for PSG-JR through the Business Grants Portal (BGP).

Eligible enterprises can work with pre-approved JR consultants to redesign work processes, tasks and responsibilities. The expected outcomes of the PSG-JR project may include:

o Worker’s job size enlarged and/or job value increased*
o Improved job attractiveness to the local workforce*
o Improved wage outcomes of workers
o Jobs have been redesigned to better support business transformation in the organisation
o Non value-added tasks are restructured with higher value-adding tasks added
o Workers have been up-skilled or multi-skilled in tandem with enhanced nature of job tasks
o Improvement in productivity and reduced operating or manpower costs
o Workers’ capabilities have been enhanced for career development and opportunities are created for better career pathways
o Increased job satisfaction with facilitation of talent attraction and retention

*At least one of the two outcomes with the asterisk (*) should be achieved.

Funding Support

Participating enterprises will receive the following for approved projects:

• PSG-JR funding of up to 70% of consultancy cost, capped at $30,000 per enterprise. Funding is on a reimbursement basis upon completion of PSG-JR project.

Participating enterprises will have up to one year from the date of Letter of Offer to complete their PSG-JR project.

On top of the above funding support for PSG-JR, eligible enterprises can also tap on the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) to defray out-of-pocket (OOP) expenses. Eligible companies will receive a one-off $10,000 credit per firm to cover up to 90% of OOP expenses of pre-approved programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

Participating enterprises must fulfil the following criteria in order to qualify:

• Registered or incorporated and operating in Singapore; and
• Must have at least three local employees [1]at the point of application.

In addition to the criteria above, applicant must not have:

   o  Made any payment to a pre-approved JR consultant or third party in relation to the engagement of JR-related consultancy service;
   o  Signed or confirmed any contract or purchase order with a pre-approved JR consultant or third party in relation to the engagement of JR-related consultancy service.

All applications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

[1] Local employees can be Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. For enterprises related to the same parent enterprise, these affiliates will have to prove that their employees are not double counted in the enterprises applying for PSG-JR.

Accountancy Job Redesign Initiative​

Enterprises will be able to receive funding support through the Support for Job Redesign under Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG-JR) for job redesign consultancy that would help them enhance quality of jobs, to be more productive and attractive for their employees.

The Early Childhood Job Redesign (EC JR) Initiative aims to support early childhood operators to improve their human capital practices and talent management through job redesign (JR).
