Programme Introduction

Course Objective

This half-day workshop covers the legal do’s and don’ts in offering and managing re-employment to eligible local employees who turn age 62 in your organisation. Needless to say, it is unlawful to dismiss an employee on the ground of age. The burden of proof lies with the employer in the event of dispute.

The workshop will emphasize on the correct understanding and application of the Retirement and Re-employment Age Act, the Regulations together with the prevailing Tripartite Guidelines on Re-employment of Older Employees gazetted by the Ministry of Manpower.

Discussions during the workshop will bring participants through good practices, anticipated dispute areas, and the announced 1 July 2022 amendments to the Act.

Target Audience

HR managers and executives who make staffing and deployment decisions. This workshop may also benefit organizations with intention to apply for the WorkPro Job Redesign Grant to make work easier, safer and smarter for older employees.

Mix of lectures, discussions and sharing of practical examples.

Ms Ang Poh Inn is Director, Industrial and Workplace Relations Division, SNEF.
