Programme Introduction

Jobs are the most basic unit of an organisation structure and supports an organisation’s purpose and mission. Jobs that are properly defined and analysed bring about clarity to both employers and employers, enabling greater work outcomes. This makes job analysis a fundamental component in human capital management.

With proper job analysis, job description, evaluation and redesign can then follow. Proper job descriptions are important as it clarifies to both employer and employee the aims and requirements of a job, thereby allowing for performance management and development. Job evaluation, through the use of the SkillsFuture Skills Framework, helps companies achieve internal equity and external competitiveness to compete in an evolving operating environment.

With jobs analysed, it forms the basis for companies to practice job and organisational level “Job Redesign”. This is also one of the 22 recommendations from the Tripartite Workgroup on Older Workers.
