Programme Introduction

Apart from a good strategy, people have always been the decisive factor as to why businesses succeed or fail. People brings strategy into life and through good people, companies remain sustainable and profitable over long periods of time. Therefore, the HR function is crucial and applying data analytics to HR can provide valuable insights to complement decision making in talent management.

The government has also launched a new manpower plan for the HR industry. The IHRP Manpower Plan is anchored on a HR competency framework, based on analytics and insights, relationships and communications, labour policies and legislation as well as technology and operational excellence.

This course focuses on developing core applied capability in HR analytics with rigorous onsite training to help employers with talent management.

Why Data Analytics in the HR Functions, especially Talent Management?

Participants will be engaged through hands-on practices and will bring back to their company, useful guides to kick-start data analytics in the HR Function. This helps build data analytics capabilities and also improve talent management. Through the participants, the company will also be able to recruit more effectively.

Participants will also receive a toolkit, co-developed by SNEF and IBM to manage data for analytics purpose. From the data captured, an individualised complimentary report about the attributes of their best hires will be provided. Using the insights, companies can also hire using government grants from Adapt and Grow initiatives, which will be explained.

Mix of lectures, case studies and group discussion. As learning is more experiential in nature, course participants are required to bring a laptop. Some pre-course data collection is also required to help participants’ company develop an employer hiring profile for better hiring. Free software will be introduced and no coding is required.

About the Trainer
Freddy is an award recipient of the SNEF-STEPHEN LEE AWARD for leadership development in Tripartism and Industrial Relations.

His areas of research include HR Analytics, Compensation & Benefits, Productivity and Labour Relations. Prior to SNEF, Freddy worked with Hay Group and handled projects on HR Analytics, Engagement & Climate, Workforce Planning and Performance Management. He is currently under-studying Industrial Relations and assisted in the drafting of employee handbooks and employment contracts.

Freddy graduated from Nanyang Technological University with Honours in Mathematics and Economics. He also holds a Master of Science in Economics from the Singapore Management University, as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education.
